Have you heard of those people that get cataract eye surgery then they can see ultra violet light? freaky aye.
Wearing it would be a test to see who else is colour blind judging by their reaction to it. Vision, colour blind or not, is fascinating because much of what we "see" is apparently constructed in the brain and not the eye.
ive often wondered the same thing. as unless you are actually seeing from that persons point of view you may never know originally im like 8? looked down.. oh yeah 5.. *notices it* and somehow could also see the 2, but not just by looking at it. (hard to explain how) so to my knowledge, no im not colour blind, had to sit the test a few times, and before getting the job as a sparky. for those that would wonder about the earth and active. earth has green and yellow on it, not just a solid green. and ive seen non colour blind people still get them in the wrong terminals... =P
I have been diagnosed as having a red green deficiency, the most common form of colour blindness. Put simply, if I am standing next to someone with normal vision, looking at a stop sign, the red they see is more vibrant than the red that I see, so I get mixed up if you put red and brown next to each other. 9 times out of 10, I can tell the difference, just not straight away, takes concentration. If its dark, forget it. And I am a licensed electrician, have been for nearly 9 years. Never once been a problem, theres basically on 5 colours, red white blue green black, or theres also brown in flexible leads. Funnier still, I am a communications specialist, I work day in day out with optic fibre (tiny colourful strands), structured cable and multi pair phone cables (alot of colours), at first I struggled, but over the years have adapted and worked my way around the problem. Haven't killed anyone yet
So this explains when I have bought cars in the past and the rego papers have the wrong colour on them? Coulda been someone who was colour blind, never thought about that...
When i was a printer i taught this guy to print who was color blind . It wasn't till he asked where the green ink was and i pointed to the grey ( being a smart ass ) and it wasn't untill he was about to use it and i had to stop him that he told me . His father used to get mad at him when he was little , He'd ask him how many colors are there in a rainbow and he said three . Also if you asked him the color of a certain object sometimes he would say" i don't know i cant describe it ."
Its amazing how many people on this thread alone have some form of colorblindness . So Shane did you know that the cluster you sent me has a pink fascia ? ha ha .
A FRIEND told me that if you accidently eat certain types of mushrooms that tou will see colours you did'nt know existed.
We use to go bush walking a blazed our own trails. We marked them with dots of fluro paint. My grand father would go absolutely mental at my cousin because he couldn't spot the dots. Thats when he learned he was colour blind. Quite unfortunate for him too, he is really bad with directions and finding his way through the bush on trails we walked many times.
