Today after driving 50km mostly highway i hear shh shh shh shh from the back wheel with every revolution,so i decide to call a well known mechanic and i told them i think its the brake shoes rubbing but that was just my opinion.so the pulled every thing apart and scuffed up the inside of the roter and there was a little surface rust there. Then they took it for a drive and heard nothing and i was happy.Driving back tonight i wind down my window on the highway off ramp and here SHH SHH SHH i was so peeved off so im thinking that it has nothing to do with the brake shoes and maybe the caliper anyone had this problem and solved it thanks

mine does it also, i notice it more if i park on a downward slope and pull up the handbrake and let it rest on the handbrake then release it. always makes the noise and has peeved me off for ages. if you find whats wrong with it, let me know so i can try to fix it. havent looked at the handbrake yet because i dont know how to adjust it properly :S

LOL if you're going to bitch about Mechanics by a manual, learn how it works and do it yourself.

Its when you take a car to them because you'd rather pay someone to do a **** job, you explain the symptoms and tell them EXACTLY what you want fixed and they don't do it, but charge you for a completely seperate job that doesn't fix the issue, I get pissed.

Thanks for your input so far guys.yes its a vz adds.Cost me $82.50 to get this work done today. This is the 3rd time in 6 months that my handbrake has been adjusted and the mechanic reckons the sound was caused because on the previous adjustments by them not tightening the cable at the brake shoes.Im taking it back on monday and they will fix it again. Also my rotor's have been machined to a shiny finish and my pads are only 6 months old so im not sure.reading google comments it could be: sticky caliper, warped rotor, hot spot on disk, caliper pins out of round.IM JUST OVER IT ITS BLOODY LOUD AND EMBARRASSING AND MAKES IT SOUND LIKE A FORD :boxing::boxing

I was 50km from home when i heard it today but i reckon i could do a better job than those slackos.Since september ive had the front and back brakes done and from that i had a pulsating pedal and took it too them 3 times and not once did they feel the pedal or the rattle from the loose anti-rattle clips.I took it too another brake specialist who did a mirror finish on my rotors and machined my rear rotors because i had this noise.Had a full service done in december and got home and developed lifter tick.and now today WTF

Is yours loud richard as mine is louder when in an echoey area like driving beside a fence or wall or barrier but if i put my head out the window i can still hear it.And its only happening on the longer drives at this stage

my dad had a new booster installed by a mechanic along with a rwc, he drove out of the workshop and first time he had to stop he nearly went up the arse of the car in front took it back and they said it was normal mind you he had to pump the pedal three times to get the brakes to work everytime he wanted to stop, since then ive always done his brakes and all his work and hes had no problems with so called mechanics, as soop says buy a manual and learn how to do it yourself you save bucketloads of cash and know its done right.
