Apparently SCA is having a 30% off sale for club members only on all store stock this Saturday at my local store, guess I'll be picking some stuff up cheap to help this project along a bit.

On a positive note, the alternator was charging at 14 volts at idle, it appears to have a new battery and the water pump has already been replaced at some point.

Figure out the LPG **** and how to get it to run/switch over to petrol.

Is it LPG injection or one of the stupid mixer setups? If it's injection it might be worth another look if you're going to daily it with NZ petrol prices, works a lot better when it's only setup for one fuel instead of trying to cover 2 and injection eliminates the backfiring problems that blow the airboxes on these engines apart, also should run with the same performance as petrol. E85 flex tune would be good though.

As for a fleet car, yeah, totally possible. Bottom line is the dollar and people are cheap. Meeting basic mandated safety means good enough for most, and given some of the cars you're allowed to register in NZ (pretty jelly, Aus is hard for interesting stuff) it's kinda unsurprising.

Head and intake gaskets are ordered.

It's not factory. some sort of mixer.

I'm thinking I need to figure it all out. Looking at the certification labels the LPG system is good till the end of the year so I'll keep it for now as indeed it seems to make it cheap to run. I'd still like to figure out how to get it running on petrol though so I can make sure all that is in good working order. Need to figure out what servo's still have LPG. many seem to have done away with it, or rather newer servo's never seem have had it installed.
