Slug powered VZ, Cross 8 VZ, VE Calais & ya mum.
That would have taken quite a few cups of tea to get through it.

Complete lack of tea, most unfortunate. Will make up for it tomorrow when I do the block decks and pistons crowns.

Where do you source your elbow grease from?
Do you mine it yourself? Or do the st John ambulance deliver tubs you can use?

Poor mans valve polishing rig,

Exhaust valves from the drivers side head aren't good. It's the side with the stuffed head and intake gasket. Pitted quiet badly.

Don't like my chances of those cleaning up. Valves in the other head are in better shape as are the seats in the head.

Self sourced! my personal paramedics are there to clean up the mess when I blow a fitting out.

Polished up the rest of the valves, now a wait and see how they come up with a little lapping action.

Spent a bit of time cleaning the pistons, just the decks need a bit of work now.

Not perfect but good enough for now.

My new valve grinding paste finally arrived (a day late as is the norm here).

It's not ideal, far from it but this how the worst head has come up.

The worst one I tested with water for over an hour an no leaks.

So it's not a by the book kinda freshen up, hell, I'll probably blow it up at some stage at the end of the year so I'm not hugely fussed over it.

Not this time around but maybe in the future. TBH, those ports aren't to bad to start with, the short turn can do with a little work and the throat a slight tickle to smoothen a bit out here and there but I'd not want to hog it out. We have boost to help get the air in....

Not much to report...

Sorted the O rings for the cooling system fittings whilst I had a bit of down time at work including a few spares.

The plan is to sort through all our old imperial cap screw stocks and see if we have enough to make up a new set of head bolts. This was a bust so in the end I ordered a set of ARP head studs to suit.

Plan is to lap in the valves on the other head this week on my days off, give everything a final wash and re-assemble both heads so they can go straight on when the head studs arrive.

Ohh, and chase all the threads.... best not forget that.

I'm feeling inspired by VGG and Finnegans Garage/Road Kill.....
My demo derby team is called Team Roadkill. This inspiration comment had me thinking a whole different way..... :D
