Improving Vision at Night???

Hello,

Is it just me or do the VR - VS commies have crap headlights???
I mean i cant see crap while im driving at night and in my mates VT S-Pack its sweet. I have had better globes put in by an auto elec (90/110 or something like that) and i was told by autobarn to try Crystal vision Philips globes. Now after putting the H4 Crystal Visions in my light its WHITER but still crap, i needed the H3 High Beam globes too. WHen i went to pick these up from a different autobarn store i was told Diamond vision and Crystal vision are illegal to have in a road car, show cars only...

But still i have crap vision...

Any one have this problem?

Any fixes??

I was thinking of putting a Series2 bumper on it with foggies, but thats pretty expensive and a mate who has a VS S2 Calais said they dont make much difference.

actually they are a pretty small headlight when you look at them and come to think of it my vt had better vision than my vs's sometimes when im driving at night im like what the hell are my lights even on ?!?

ive got xenons in both the sedan and the ute but i dono to me they dont really increase vision either just look cool

not sure why you have problems, my VR has great headlights.
When I'm following someone, I can see enough with their lights to not worry about my low beams being crap, but when I'm flying solo, they're plenty bright enough. my highbeams are blinding. I've got phillips - can't remember what name, cost 55 from auto1. they're great

Like Iblown says - align your headlights - when the VS were roadtested in '96 the lights were said to be excellent.

yeah I got excellent Vision in my commo.
Mates comment on how good my highbeams are. (Can see the tree tops in the hills!)
what ever globes the dude who owned the car before me put in it, rock!

mine are ok on high beam ( back sticks country road ) but low's have a max of 1 and a half carlengths range. great if your in front of me ( wont get blinded ) but shocking when there isnt any street lights.

my headlights are stock VX globes ( which are brighter than my normal vs ones despite having the same ratings, got them off a mate when he switched to xenons [ which were awesome bright ] )

im tempted to get a pair of spotlights put on my bullbar and some good navara headlight bulbs.

yeh my vs has really crappy headlights aswell i cant see sh1t unless i leave my highbeams on in a heaps dark street.

i had them alligned last time i had my car serviced, as they were way out... well i didn't notice any difference. might just have sucky lenses or reflectors or maybe im not getting enough power to the globes???

Mines was out of alignment and was crap, after alignment its great now. Yes the headlights are slim, but they look good = MEAN!!!
