in-dash lights... help required

    hey guys,

    i want to change the globes in my dash from stock to blue LED's... i know it is possible, seen it somewhere.. what kind of globes do i need? parking lights?
    any idea on how much of the dash i need to pull off?
    any help would be much appreciated..

    no you cant just put blue globes in. each button/dash part, has some transparent green plastic on it. you need to replace that with some blue alternative.

    thanks for your help. any ideas on what or where i could get something useful to do this?

    You can do leds, but i wouldnt recommend it unless youre pretty confident with your soldering. You will also require a voltage dropping resistor, so it can get tight in some spots. You can just change the globes, but only those that you can find a blue replacement. Ebay might be able to help you out with a few, but alot of the globes may not be made in blue. In the VT section, there is a rough how-to.

    The little covers on the globes are there for light dispersment. If you do end up going with leds, you might find that the leds are too directional, and make a really bright spot in some areas, but really dull in another. You may get away with using the green covers off the original bulb, the blue light should still come through nicely.
