Hi all
I have a couple of questions regarding engine looms and ecu's
I have a 97 VS Ute it has a supercharged v6, Getrag 5 speed and a Haltec E8 (original ecu is gone).
The problem is the speedo doesn't work and it idles at 1000rpm when warm. I took it into the shop today and they said there's nothing they can do about the speedo because the sender uses a magnetic pulse for the signal to the ecu then its converted to a wave pulse to the speedo. I was wondering whether I should ditch the E8 and buy super 6 ecu and the supercharged engine loom. I believe that the Getrag and Auto's have the same electronic speedo setup. Or is there anyone on this forum that has any other advise on the problem.
Also how can I tell what the engine donor car was i.e. by engine number etc.
