If the trans is over filled it can cause slippage. Allow it to slip for very long and it will cause real damage. If it is not obvious, you have to check the fluid level with the trans. at operating temperature (drive it for a few minutes) to get an accurate level.

It sounds like the trans. is dead though. The longer you leave it the worse it is going to get. It will be cheapest (short term at least) to replace it with a used transmission. Make sure that when the trans. is replaced or repaired the trans. cooler lines and the cooler (or coolers if there is one in addition to that in the radiator tank) is/are flushed to remove any friction material from the dead transmission.

If the trans. is slipping it will dump a lot of heat into the trans. cooler(s). Some of that heat will end up in the engine coolant. Fix the trans. first, then look at the engine overheating if it is still a problem.

i hope not you damaged the trans.what you can do is take out some extra fluid by disconnecting trans cooling line and start the for 5sec and stop.and keep doing this until you have correct level. then see how you go. before going for a replacement its worth trying that.MAYBE it gets better. oh and try checking error codes.
