Hey guys, Relatively new to the scene, but was hoping for some (Laymans terms) insight on a worn LSD. Unfortunately looking at having to replace my 3.46 LSD, but was hoping you guys could help me with more options than a straight replacement. Old man's a Diesel Mechanic and I cut my teeth in the trade straight out of high school, so possibly putting it back in no drama but as for a reco we're both unsure... Symptom: Jacked up one side of the back and the hieghtened wheel showed little to no resistance. Possible Options: 1. Eaton truetrac replacement 2. chase down a 2nd hand 3.46LSD and reco my buggered one? Thanks
If you have an M80 diff, get yourself an Eaton true-trac! I have one and will never EVER think of getting a standard Borg Warner LSD ever again. They don't wear out like normal cone type LSD's do. For around $649 (postage inc) they are cheaper to get than to recondition your original diff, they are rated to withstand up to 500rwhp as well. I got mine from these guys and had no trouble what so ever, postage was very quick as well: http://www.vpw.com.au/Category/Index/6782 (EAT-912A642 GTO, 28spline $613.20 is what you want if you have an M80 diff) Cheers Glenn
Thanks heaps, These prices are heaps better than originally planned. Just a quick question, how to know if it is a M80 diff? Would it stamped on the side of the LSD or somwhere else. Thanks again
