Hey guys, I took my car into the mechanic today and he found that one of the injectors wasnt working at all, meaning my car has been running on 5 cylinders lol. Its booked into the shop next week so all the injectors can be cleaned, so whats a rough price on injector cleaning?

At least now I know why my car wasnt starting well, rough idle, lack of power etc.

hi guys, this experience might help.
i was at a cross road 3-4yrs back regarding clogged injectors too - bad fuel economy.
$225 sounds about right to remove, ultrasonic clean then pressure flow test - that is its hooked up to a machine to see if the spray is still a "fine mist" like its supposed to be.
pressure flow test is important as it shows whether its been properly cleaned.
if it doesn't its too worn - the needles are worn and when opened the gap is too wide and does not give a fine mist, ie. more fuel flows thru, bad economy.
so i went with replacing them all with new genuine ones for $540 fitted, makes sense when just to clean them cost nearly half!!!
been using shell optimax ever since so they should always stay clean...
they're easy to take out, but be careful with the seal at the base as with heat and age they may be stuck and be brittle and can break when removed, also use some auto grade silicon grease on it when putting it back to prevent them from sticking.
just unclip wire connection, loosen fuel rail retaining nuts and they can then be removed.
