ive heard of people using a battery to pulse the injectors while spraying carbie cleaner through them - but i wouldnt have a clue how you actually go about it - like how to hook up the battery.
if you really want some clean injectors id say to just buy some second hand ones that have been ultrasonically clean and everything. VS injectors go pretty cheap and will probably be most cost effective than taking yours out and paying someone to clean them for you.

good ol' ebay usually has a few, i picked up a set not long ago for $100. they had been cleaned and flow tested with new pintles and o-rings, they work great and came with a warranty too.

Just on that sircruisealotVS, did they charge you extra and require you to send them your old injectors, and then they refund the extra $?

I've seen a bench setup for cleaning injectors which had a fuel pump supplying fuel at 40psi to the injector and an old points distributor hooked to an electric motor which spun the distributor and the points sent 12V to the injector to pulse/fire them fairly rapidly. The idea was that you could run the injector and visually see the spray pattern and run cleaners thru the injectors to clean. Never actually saw it in operation - it was designed for the old Bosch K Jetronic FI on Jags and made by a bush mechanic in Charleville. He didn't smoke.

hahahha :p Seriously though, I think the bush mechanics are great engineers. When you dont have the equipment you need, you can get pretty creative.

I strongly suggest looking at the reco option on ebay...there's a fella that sells them there for $98.00 a set. Sounds like a good deal. I had my own cleaned and rebuilt at mechanics...set me back $230.00 but in my opinion it was money well spent.

    Cheers all,
    Boojakz.

nah, straight out purchase. i didnt have any VS injectors to send back if they wanted them anway, lol. i had VT injectors in my car and was planning on getting a fuel regulator to raise the pressure up to 3.5bar so they would run properly in the VS - but found it was a bit more difficult than that so i just bought some VS ones instead.

why not use injector cleaners first, see if it makes a difference....
they work best at constant highway cruising, before you go on a long trip, fill up with a bottle of injector cleaner.
use it continuously over 2-3 tanks and it should make a difference, a bottle once a blue moon will not do much, if anything.
usually, first bottle loosen build up, and next 2 bottles clean it out.

yeah, those injector cleaners can help a bit, but only so much. for the cost of three bottles of good injector cleaner you'd may as well spring for the extra few bucks and buy some reco'd injectors, they're rediculously cheap these days.
