Hey guys just wondering how i would go about cleaning my injectors done a search and couldnt find any thing. cheers
really you should get them ultrasonically cleaned. If it was me doing it, i'd purchase the injector rebuild kit (contains seals and such) then i'd have them all hooked up to an adapted fuel rail (adapted to fit sometthing like a spray gun) fill the adapted fuel rail with xylene (the air compressor and spray gun etc will force this through with pressure) then use a circuit designed to pulse (a small strobe circuit will work wonders and they are easy to get and cheap) on the injectors. you should now have flowing xylene, actually spraying xylene, out of the injectors, let this continue untill the spray pattern appears to be good enough. Now strip down the injectors and use the rebuild kits. Refit the injectors and hope for the best I guess, Xylene is a cleaning product used in fuels allready, so it should be ok, I work with the stuff and feel safe in saying, wear gloves and don't breath it in.
There is a company called mobile injector service, or something like that, that are really good if there is one near you. I know there are a few in QLD, not sure where youre located. They come to you and have a setup in the back of a van. Will do the lot and give you a report. Not the cheapest at $250, but that is a full set done (V6). Let me know if you want their details.
actually I wouldn't mind knowing the name of the business and contact details, cause seriously Holden charge you a stupid amount to ultrasonically clean injectors... i mean it really isn;t worth the cash wasted... so let us know cheers
well i had been charged $600 in excess, just to have injectors removed and cleaned... for that price i would expect they would be replaced with gold plated ones!!! grrrr
with a price of 250 for a clean, and 600 as mentioned, you should be able to purchase a new set. holden dont have them, so i've been told, but im sure an injector specialist should be able to set u up with a set.. id much rather a brand new set, for round the same price of a clean. Then ur garrenteed to know that where the pintle rests, is not damaged (which happens over time) and seals perfectly fine.
I think vx injectors flow at a lesser rate, because the injector rail runs at like 3.5-4 bar where earlier rails run at around 2.5-3 bar, apparently a higher pressure in the rail with a lower injector flow rate gives a more efficient spray pattern.
Does this answer some questions on cleaning vs replacment cost difference? bosch injectors, injectors, Car Parts, Accessories, Farming, Agriculture items at low prices on eBay.com.au
yea they do fit, and the VT-VY are all the same injector Correcto, but its only a 1cc flow rate lower, and with a better spray pattern i'd doubt even a dyno would be able to tell the difference. they do run at different bars, yes.. i dont know what the resultant would be, less flow? maybe, but in saying that i have a VT engine complete with VT injectors running of my original VS ecu, and i havent noticed any difference in power at all from the engine swap. so i wouldnt totally rule them out. im not 100% sold on reco injectors, had a bad experience, bought a set for the misses dad, yes be it an EL, but still, dropped them in, car ran like ****. ripped em out, instant improvement. ok, sent them off for a check, 1 didnt work at all (blocked) 3 where flowing at only half capacity, n only 2 worked within the specified "working range" and it was one of those sellers.. only new or very low kms ones for me more info.. check one of my older posts  http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/794625-post3.html with a link to the injector details
