Inlet manifold gaskets

Hi All, is there a how for replacing inlet manifold gaskets that is specific to the Buick engine?
Also, last time I looked I didn’t find any alloy gaskets for the Buick, only plastic. Were the alloy ones available? Anyone still got them?

The 3800 V6 only had the plastic gaskets as far as I know.

The process is much the same as the ecotec, the biggest differences are in the heater hoses and alternator placement.

I do have a Gregorys manual and have done the inlet gasket about 10 years ago on an earlier engine but the tips on this site are always worth, at least soliciting

I haven't done the Buick one in over a decade but I do remember the first time I did an ecotec one is was more of a PITA which was more to do with the heater hose pipes (as I remember it).

If you have done it before Rob it will be fairly easy. I did mine a couple of years ago. No special gaskets AFAIK. Only tips i can offer is smear the manifold with a tiny bit of oil or RP7. This just helps it to slide and not foul the seals on the gasket if it doesn't go in exactly where it should the first time. Bit of blue RTV on the corners of the front and back seals. Also if are yet to replace the heater hose adapter at the back of the engine then grab a brass one from Repco and replace it. They are a bastard to replace with the manifold still on.
