I was just wondering if inside rear tyre wear is a common problem on series 1 VT's?

Yes.. Read the Shame, Holden Shame thread..

Otherwise, yes there is a camber problem. Get a four point camber kit fitted to fix it.. About $500 off the top of my head..

The problem was rectified in the Series 2 VX...

So yeah..

Thanks for that, it means the guy trying to sell it to me wasn't full of it. You seem to be an old hand at this, so ill ask you. What should I expect to pay for a VT series 1 Berlina V8 in good nick around 170k?

Hmm.. 8-10 grand would sound reasonable.. I'd say aobut the 9,500 mark for something in good nick though..

Don't let people tell you the kilometres are too high.. Check the service history.. A full service history is much more important then k's..

The 5 litre 8 in that Berlina is damn good too.. A nice tough engine and a good car..

What's he askin?

Offer him 9 cash. Then 9.5 if he doesn't take the 9.

I just had my front tyres changed over and the guy told me that my tyres were run on a sub-standard PSI which caused my front left tyre to have exessive outside wear around the tyre walls. My rims are 17" HSV ones with low profiles, which should be around 38-44 PSI were around 27 PSI..

The car has stock suspension so should I now be carefull of inside tyre wear if all tyres are at optimum PSI?

cheers

38-44 PSi is not the right pressure for 17" tyres mate..

I've got 18" and I run on 36Psi..

34-36 for general purpose driving is fine.. Not 27 though..
