Hi everybody

Making this thread on behalf of a mate who is going to look at a SV6 tomorrow.

Some info on the car:

2011 VE SV6 Series II

Manual with 9,000 km

Just wondering if you could please give me some advice on what he should look for? Appreciate your help!

Be on the look out for either accident, hail or flood damage.

Accident damage is the main thing, look for over spray - paint edges around door shuts, under bonnet, around boot - seam sealer on welded joints - lift the boot carpet look at the rear panel - get head down level with side of car and look down the sides look for ripples, dents signs of repair work/body filler.
Ask the dealer a million and one questions, if they have nothing to hide the answers will come easily.

it should still be under warrantee so doubt there would be anything mechanically wrong with it, maybe check the operation of the clutch, condition of the tyres. It should still have the original rubber on it with that many kms, which should give him some kind of idea of hows its been driven depending on how much wear these tyres are showing.

2016 MY16 SV6, 2 x Triumph 2500 (1970/77), manuals
Any update?

I expect that anyone owning an SV6 Manual likes driving cars. I would be surprised if you could find one with only 9,000 km on it. Mine is past 50,000.

If it is 2011, then it is at least an MY11, and has a reasonable period of Holden warranty remaining. Any doubt could probably be covered by taking an extended manufacturers warranty. See link below:

Extended Factory Warranty - Products & Services

An additional three years (making approaching 4) and 91,000 km for $1,365 is a small price to pay. Note that the extended warranty can be purchased any time within the original warranty period.

And I have just noticed that it would also include Holden Roadside Assistance for the full period of warranty.
