Great tutorial. It helped alot :3 only took an hour to do.
Minus the running around to buy a hacksaw etc .
Here's the finished product.
I used 1"4 washers and spring washers to hold it into place.

Won't fit on a VY and these days it's been well proven that the MACE CAI is a much better option.

Done exactly what you done and my bonnet won’t shut, I can make the latch with the spring longer but then I have gaps around my whole bonnet
