So my insurance was due again, so I did a bit of searching on the web.

Any way my car is a 2014 redline with otr, tune, catback with Varex muffs and Opti Coat.

Virgin would not even come to the party because of my exhaust upgrade (best price at the start).
Shannons were happy to charge me just over $1300, so no, too much.

I ended going with my original (carn't say as they don't know about the upgrades) as I have lots of things insured with them.
I want to come clean with them, but I may just declare the muffs for starters.

Anyway what are you getting for your cars with full disclosure for minimal upgrades, price and company if you would like to share.

I hear people paying over 1k for insurance. Stupid Youi ad says some bird saves 300 bucks on a 1100 buck policy. But the wifes near new car was under 700 a year and valued at 30k.

Youi rarely works out cheaper than their competitors in my experience.
Gotta pay for all that segment analysis and TV marketing somehow!

i know its ridiculous as if anyone would pay 1300 bucks a year to insure there 35-40k car. If you have any nous you would call NRMA and soon realise Youis apparently discounted price is the the starting price ofmost other insurers....

lol you dont live in sydney... i wish i paid that much..
This, so much this. :(
I guess the insurance companies have to subsidise the premiums of people elsewhere in order to be competitive somehow ...

AFAIK its based on risk. Hence more likely to have an accident in a major city than a country town. Our car insurance is pretty cheap in Tas. Yet my home cover is is heaps more than city dwellings of the same value because of bushfire risk.
