I tried searching and couldn't really come up with an answer to my silly questions so here I am. I'm pretty stupid with this stuff so forgive me.

I have no interior light in my VR, the whole thing isn't there apart from a wire...do I need to go to a wrecker for another one, or can you get one on Ebay or somewhere? Also, the light around the ignition doesn't work and neither does the one on the gearbox (it's auto), so at night you can't see what gear it's in lol. Are both of these likely to be fuses or something?

You're best to go to a wrecker unless someone has a 2nd hand one on Ebay for the overhead light. The other lights are probably just bulbs so I'd check them first.

    How much would that be?

And it's missing everything, like there's a hole in the roof basically and I can see a wire there and that's about it. Should have taken a photo while it wasn't dark outside lol.

Check if you have the prongs to hold the bulb.

easy to put the map reading lights in, it just bolts straight in and you just cut a little bit of the lining out to fit. I did that to my wagon when the base broke. Holden should be able to sort you out with some bulbs for the others

the prongs that they are talking about are the metal things on the end of the wire. from this angle it looks like you have them so it should just clip straight into the plastic

Yeah prongs are there. Yours looks the same as mine. Haha. I just have the bulb hanging there and a cover over it

probably just age and the heat from the globe made the plastic brittle.... globe blew... someone tried to change it and the base fell to pieces

Your other lighting issues may be fuse related, after paying more attention to the pic above i'd be guessing the 2 metal parts of the globe socket have come into contact with each other or the car body, short circuiting and caused the fuse to blow, until the interior lamp is replaced (or you insulate the bare metal prongs with a few layers of electrical tape) i wouldn't bother changing fuses as it'll just happen again (or worse cause more damage to other electronic devices).

basic explanation as all the technicalities of electricity aren't needed
