hey guys im thinking about upgrading my interior in my vr berlina to that of a vs statesman (door trims,Front and rear seats) is this worth doing are the seats better quality or anything? thanks alot also should they fit exactly the same thanls
the rear wont fit 100%, differnet wheel bases, i think, its the issue with the VQ's but im not sure with the VS statos.... everything else will fit fine. aZk. oh and yes worth it...
VS Statesmen seats are so much nicer than Berlina seats, especially if you go the extra step and go for leather. Thats just my opinion though.
would love to go leather but finding them in good nic is always hard. i have a good set of statesman ones but they are cloth for about 200 inc door trims.
Can't see why not. But be prepared to spend allot for the luxury stuff in good condition. Every one want stuff like that these days. Including me.
missed out on the stato gear anyone know of any seats/door trims for sale would be much appreciated thanks
All of the statesman interior will fit your Berlina. The rear squab (the part you sit on) in a statesman (and also wagons) is about 50mm wider from front to back because although the car is 50mm longer (see gap behind rear door) the rear floor well is the same size. The stato squab will overhang the floor a bit more than that of the sedan squab but will still pop in. By using a sedan squab in my wagon it gave the impression of more floor space which there actually isn't. All the door cards are the same size for all models so no probs there. According to Holden the seat shape comes in three types, basic (executive, acclaim, vacationer etc), mid level (Berlina, Calais, SS & S) and high level (Stato and Caprice). My local wrecker there is only 2 as he reckons the Mid and High seats are the same shape. He could be right because back when the VQ statesman was new it's V8 radiator cost more than that of an SS yet they were identical in everything but price. Go the leather and just get the bad bits repaired, if you are going cloth may as well save your money and stay with what you have now the seats won't sit you any better.
As above, the rear seat will fit fine. The only thing that may not be to your liking, is the side bolstering will get squashed by the arm rest.
