Hi again, this is becoming a bit of a car maintenance month...

After having a quick look at what's involved in the external mirror replacement - just noticed the internal rear view mirror starting to 'bleed'. You know, like the really old antique mirrors on furniture when they go hazy. I'm assuming this is again because of heat/age etc.

Is there any fix to this or does it mean a new unit? Any way to only replace the glass? If I need a new unit any tricks etc to getting old one off the windshield without buggering the metallic dark strip and/or maybe even cracking the windshield? Looked at a few YouTube vids but nothing specific. Don't beleive the VE Calais has anything electrical going into this (original) unit?

As always, thanks.

There’s no electrics in the mirror. I had mine off a few years back but can’t recall how I got it off.

Ta. I'll work it out. Seems such a simple thing - in theory.

They have a spring loaded clip.
Really gentle with loads of force with the right screwdriver in the slot.
I replaced mine with an auto dimming model, even with ambo tint it works fine.

Thx LazyC. Can you elaborate a bit? So you place the screwdriver into the slot and twist? Or no twist? Gentle but decisive?
Cheers
