    Hey guys,

I've just replaced the serpentine belt on my ls1 WH stato, (nothing obviously wrong with the old one, just a bit of preventative maintenance given the fact it was on there for 5+ years). I'm hoping you knowledgable people can help me in relation to interpreting the marks on the tensioner and where it should be sitting in relation to these? Stupidly, I didn't look At where it was sitting when the old belt was on, so I'm not sure if its changed or not,

    Cheers

If you PM me your email address I have a pic on the computer from the Holden workshop manual showing where the marks on the tensioner pulley should sit and email it to you. Save me uploading the pic through photobucket.

looking down at the belt tensioner, there are three lines and the big rectangular lobe. If the right side of the lobe is passed the very right line, the belt is too tight. If the right side of the lobe is at or passed the very left line you need to replace the belt. Pretty much want the right side of the lobe lining up with the center line.

Much Appreciated mate, I think mine looks sweet in that case, and it seems to have stopped an annoying chirp which was happening for a few minutes after cold start up..bonus!
