Have a question/query about my vx station wagon. Have it yellow stickered for a few issues that are repairable but I’m looking at moving back to NSW from WA so if I have the car transported back to NSW on a transporter can I get the problems fixed in NSW and then transfer the registration or do I have to fix the problems here in WA first

You cannot transfer WA rego to NSW.
You will have to first cancel the WA rego, probably best before you leave WA, unless you want to drive it in NSW with WA rego until you get the car repaired then get a new blue slip in NSW, cancel the WA rego, and register it in NSW.
I don't know if NSW would be aware of the WA yellow sticker.

Yeah I was intending on moving once the repairs were done but I’d like to be back just after New Years instead so hence the question....I know the work will have to be done anyway so can be done once in NSW....

I think the defect will remain until it's lifted. Given its an offence to remove the sticker, it would be best to have the defect sorted before you leave.

I would think if the WA rego is cancelled, then the defect no longer applies, but the car would then have to pass NSW rego blue slip.

same - but it's just a guess.

this isn't a write-off and if it passes an inspection in the new state who cares about the previous defect?
