Issue = Phone not charging.

Is this normal? - cable and phone working fine because it connects to media / music etc.

I did a google search and found this:-

( If your car USB port isn't charging your phone, the problem could be with the port, the cable, or even the phone. Not all car USB ports are designed to charge phones, or power peripheral devices at all, so there's a chance that you're dealing with that type of situation.Aug 6, 2019 )

Please advise if this is normal
Regards

The USB port inside the centre console won't charge your phone - it's only for connecting to the mylink system. The 'cigarette lighter' one in the tray in front of the gearstick is a charging port, but obviously you will need the adapter to go into it, same as the one at the rear of the centre console.

The USB port in the centre console charges my Android phone and my wife's iPhone in my VF1 Calais V, albeit not very quickly. Are you sure your cable both transmits data AND charges? (Not all cables do).

Only just on a long trip (I.e it's very slow as stated above). It does hold charge well though.

The centre console USB port isn’t designed for charging - it’s very slow as people have stated and is primarily for music files. The MyLink system never uprated the power output of that port to give ‘fast charging’.

i think it is only a 500ma port and if you burn it out you will have no usb on the mylink at all so be careful what you plug into it.
