My IRS makes a groan when I get out the car, anyone tell me what it could be?

Sounds like the Bush's are either worn out or dried out,
As a Test/Temporary measure,
Spray them with WD40, and see if that quietens it down,
If so, you know what to do ! re-bush it,
If not, back to the drawing board, process of elimination.
Could be the Handbrake Shoes/Pads,
Something rubbing against the body
Shockers [Front, Rear or both]
Just the Stabilizer Bar Bush's.

I'm thinking along the lines of woteva and am going to lube the bushes and go from there.
