Hey guys,

Have had a bit of a search around but could not really find what i am looking for so
thought one of you would definitely know!

I was wondering what the difference is between the vy R8 clubby engine and the vy ss engine.
Is it a block and heads thing or a bit more in depth than that.

For a bit of a back story i basically have an opportunity to buy a VY R8 Clubsport that needs a little
bit of work. That is fine because i can do it all myself.

The only unknown is the engine (condition, km) so am preparing for the worst if it comes to that.
I have a complete low km LS1 engine from a previous project so was thinking i could use that if
it came down to it, only thing is i don't want to turn an R8 into an SS if you know what i mean:hmmm:

Is there extra parts i would need to do the conversion from the SS to the R8 and if/when it is sold down the track does the different engine affect the fact it is a "HSV"

Just weighing up my options before i jump in and engine could possibly be fine anyway, just won't know till i go and have a look in a couple of weeks.

Any info much appreciated,
Cheers.:D

Beautiful, thanks.

My engine is about 7 months newer so that should be fine then!

So what gives the clubby the extra kw? Is it just a tune or something?

Thanks again.:spot on:

I think there's a cam change involved, exhaust system and tune. Could be more to it, but the hardware is all the same.

Ok, cool.

So its all do-able then, no special HSV only engine, great!

Thanks.

I think only the c4b got a cam change, so its just a tune an exhaust that is the difference between the ss an hsv

lol, you would know about it if it was a C4B.

I'm fairly sure there was only 300 or less made. 300kw LS1.
