It's the List Of Stuff We Are Grumpy About Which Can Be Vaguely Peripherally Related To Holden No Longer Being A Manufacturer thread.

    ZB Commodore is among them!

Otherwise know as: "The tenuous nexus between spurious product offerings, brand recognition and buyer behavioural patterns as anticedents to the politically astute, economically rational market aware, CEO ready Commodore owners thread":p:D;)

I wonder if the Just Camries Aus forum is going through a similar political revolution as Just Commies is?

The Just Camries forum has a membership of just over 5 million people, with 1.45m of them active daily.
The first of them will actually notice what is going on some time in the year 2047.

So it seems that, until this thread became the defacto political thread, nobody saw or was interested in the NG/ZB Commodore.

Labor voters vote on principle, despite that being stupid because the party never follows their principles, and justify it by saying "if everyone's happy we are all better off".
Liberal voters vote on personal gain, despite that being stupid because the Liberal party favours elites & most of their fans aren't in that club, and justify it by saying "if I'm better off everyone is obviously going to better off".

Greens voters ... who knows, they don't, too much weed.

One Nation voters can't tell the difference between their glorious leader & Ronald McDonald, and they like a Big Mac so voting day is a pleasant experience just like a free trip to Maccas.

Fishers & Shooters voters are too busy rocking on their rocking-chairs on their front porch, shooting at neighbourhood kids who venture onto their lawn to retrieve a cricket-ball.

having had a chance to drive (yes, being fleet manager for work has its benefits) both hatch and wagon versions
can i say don't compare ZB to VF, compare it to Mazda 6, Camry and Kia Optima even BMW 3 series or Benzs

The 4cyl turbo hatch is a far superior thing to any of those... and if Holden get the final pricing right
( I have seen the suggested RRP, they better stick to that) then this will knock these guys sideways, it is that much better
.. to drive, to live with, a better shopping trolley for ya missus if you like.

But the one I really enjoyed was the v6 wagon (sworn to secrecy re the actual model) this is a damn fine
car. Better than 3 series Beemer wagons and you would need to be lala to consider a new Skoda Wagon
(2017 Car of the Year) compared to this. It really is that good... but no, it is not a VF and I don't get
why Holden are pushing ZB as a VF successor. It ain't....

by the way, for those interested... the 4 cyl turbo FWD version does not suffer from torque steer. Hands off, flatten it at the lights... it goes in a straight line (and you will beat 90% of anything off at the lights)

No, I won’t be buying or considering the ‘fake news’ Commodore.

I’d rather an AU Falcon on gas, then support Holden’s decision to ruin the Commodore name.

Good Post Smitty, your summary is just what I thought a euro based Opel would be. Personally I'd be quite happy to buy a 2.0 turbo for daily use. Still nice to keep the V8 for weekends. I don't know about about tow capacity for the ZB, I expect not great as a tow car. I was surprised to read in todays newspaper that the Equinox is actually rated at 2000Kg and I believe with 200Kg ball load, I was figuring it would have been more like 1600Kg. With the ZB, I always thought once it's released, the VF will look old school, even with the upgrades that came with VF over VE/ VEII.

I asked about towing capacity ... but was told that is subject to confirmation by Engineering
but it is expected to be 1200kg for the hatch and 1600kg for the wagon (both at 160kg ball)

There will be no HD version at 2100kg offered I was told in any of the 7 versions

Those portable dog-wash trailers & hair-dressing suites are quite heavy.

I'm more likely to buy a Camaro or corvette when they come out in RHD

That does kinda mean you’re not in the historic target-market then, someone who needs a fambly-sized car but also wants reasonable performance.
Not fitting the spawn in the Camaro, not unless you’re being quite liberal with the drop-saw on their lower limbs.
