Is it a genuine VN SS Group A???

yeah i will gets some pics of it tomorrow its currently sitting at the workshop where i work. My dad gave it to me as a 21st birthday present. He bought it for a grand as the fella was desperate for cash.
It is a VN SS Commodore, but its was resprayed around christmas time, and the badges have been removed, its got a body kit on it but the spoiler has been taken off and holes have been bogged, the exaust has been cut off just in front of the diff.
I havent seen a Group A before either, thats why i want to know what to specifically look for.
It is an automatic so thats not looking too promising but no drama.
Its still a good present either way. My old man is paying for all the parts it needs to get it on the road:w00t:

would it say anything on the plates at all?

Yep if its an SS it will say VN8VK19 - A9F (A9F is the SS bit)

From a quick glance, everything on this ones is 100% stock (wheels, kit, seats look the same from what i can see)

Although being auto, its not a group A, probably just an SS (which is still a score considering people still ask 10gs for them.)

Yeah, but its not in the 302 build numbers

I saw it as posters around a job site promoting safety on your drive home from work, and i just had to put it in. If i go back, i'll photocopy one and make a sigpic.

Seems you have just a VN SS with a Group A bodykit. Still a good score for a 21st birthday present mate. The main thing is, it has a 5 litre under the bonnet

Yeah i knew it was too good to be true.

As for me having a top dad sometimes he is dumb, i tried to explain that the group As were made in manuals only and that only 1 was made for a man with 1 leg or something... my old boy says.. well thats the one you got then LOL LOL,

The previous owner says he had it stolen a while back, but luckly got it back coz its a very well known vehicle in brisbane, so he took the bonnet scoop off and some of the body kit, to tone it down a bit. Apparently he still has those parts, so ask i my dad to try and get them for me
I was also thinking that there is no way someone would let a group a sit and collect leaves, or out where it can be stolen.. if you're gunna let that happen then you shouldn't even have a holden in the first place!!
Its pretty sad lookin on the inside, needs a new roof lining and rear quarter plastic panels too. It would be good to get my hands on an interior from a calais or something
