well i went and had a look at a VR equipe today..motor and trans is out of car as the motor seized....think it comes with motor and box though...but motor is stuffed...anyway. The car is white and is pretty straight (only little ding on rear quarter panal) but paint is like new still. interior is in good nick.....only a little bit of moisture here and there (been sitting for 6 moths) roof lining, dash door card...etc is all in great nick. it has electric windows, tinted windows (no scratches in tint as it looks like expensive tint not cheap crap)),cruise control, electric mirrors, electric arial its live axle though and has ABS. so basically its complete. just need engine and put back together. ok..so what i wanna know is my 1996 VS has normal winding windows and no tinted windows. Is it possible to take all wiring regulators and windows from the VR and transplant to my VS? to make it has electric windows? or do i need a new BCM from a VS that had electric windows? or does electric windows work of a separate control unit and not the BCM? same for cruise control? i can get it for $700. Wreckers here want 650 for all the stuff to convert to electric windows (minus door cards i think) not to mention how much they want for cruise control (another 250 plus) plus all the interior (probly another 900 plus from wreckers)) sorry for all questions cheers
went out and had a look at me VS and it does has the wiring under the radio for electric windows so yeh thats a bonus haha also i think it has the wiring for cruise control...another bonus. Does vr cruise control fit on vs? where would the connection for the rear doors be (for electric windows) also how much would a decent tint job cost? cheers
You can transplant allof that if you got the time. Soundslike a good deal. Especially if you ri it all out and can sell the back window regs and the roof lining, panels and anything else you dont want. Throw it all on ebay.
