Perfect. Glad you didn't get carried away and pay too much. Looks like it will be a great start for whatever you choose to do in the future with it.

1st Issue: One on many I'm sure.

    finding a suitable fuel tank!!

Pulled my one out and internal hose has like melted, rusty and stunk like crap..

One complaint: why can people make it hard? found a tank in Perth agreed on a price and asked for some pic's! bloke said yep will pull it out get some pic's and buzz them through. 3 days passed and still nothing but promises before I mke the 400km trip each way to collect? planned to leave 5.30am today but at 8pm last night still nothing..

So still on the search for a good condition 80ltr tank with sender.

Not sure how much you are paying for the non existent tank but give these guys a look. With freight cost it might work out cheaper to have it delivered than travelling 800kms.

Cheers for that! they didn't have any fuel tanks but got a price in a similar size item at $314. freight. lol It was worth a shot. Might just put the smaller 63ltr tank in until I find the 80 ltr tank. it's hard to get her running without one :D

living country I have to travel for parts/cars etc.. I normally try and buy a whole car for spares but haven't found anything suitable there either.. lol it wasn't that long ago that no one wanted them and now no one wants to sell them.. :(

My last 3 parts VS V6 cars cost under $200 each and came from Pickles salvage action for accident damaged vehicles. The last 2 just needed a battery and could drive them, accident damage was very minor with just the front bumper missing on one and rear hit on the last one.

Edit: couldn't see any vr/vs in Perth but there are 2 in this week's auction in Adelaide.

I have been keeping an eye on the auctions. I have bought a few cars there over the years and my last donor came from the Pickles.

I know it's a long shot but would like a V8 to maximise my usable parts. Got my last one last donor that was a Factory V8 5spd but that in a sedan would be nice this time...:) I'm sure something will come up in time.

You can subtitle it as whatever you like. Logically its someones headache and money pit. You havnt mentioned ks on the clock nor if it runs. Could cost you 10k + to get a cruzer reliable on the road. Firstly do a costing for eg:
    Suspension $3000
    Tyres $1000
    A/c disconect and refit/gas $500+
    Engine in/out $500-1000
    Engine repairs $ 1000 + depending
    Rwc $ 200+
Price of car based on how much someone wants/ wants to outlay!!!

km on the car are 160km and haven't started it yet!! want to get the fuel system in order before turning the key.. They are all Money pits but if I was you I would get some better prices..
I could go spend 60k on something new to have it drop in value by a min of 50% in 3 years? know where I would rather spend my money.
Suspension is rather good but will replace key components for under $500
    Tyres maybe $600 (mates shop)
A/C 90% done myself and the last regas was $90
    Engine in and out free
Confident with the engine but have a spare 100% complete good engine in the shed.. but will rebuild existing so maybe 10k lol

Not to concerned about the prices as I'm not doing it for the money!! like the car and like building them it's all about the process and enjoyment that comes from working on them.
