Hi, all im just wondering if its worth running the balance shaft on a ecotec if your caming it? Does it make any difference to stray vibrations in conjunction with a cam?
If not ill just unbolt the gear in the front.
no hard feelings but please don't comment on this acting like you destined the motor and know what you talking about unless you have actually done the delete at some point.
Thanks

I've not done it to a cammed engine, but it made no difference when I removed the gear on mine. However, it did get rid of the horrible BS tap that was annoying me.
Good to hear! Thanks for the comment. was the motor anymore responsive after?

BS = balance shaft.
I expect you already know this & just trying to be funny? hahaha
Actually I couldn't figure out what BS tap was meant to mean, except for the obvious

Thanks Losh. I've just stuffed the mace stage 2 cam in my rebuilt eco and unbolted the bs gear. It runs good! No vibrations that weren't there before, motor is very snappy. Cheers mate!
Edit: There is a bit of a vibration between 1200-1400rpm but you can only really feel it though the steering wheel for some reason. Apart from that all good. Keep in mind Ive got solid engine mounts also, not hydraulic.
