- VE V Calais
Hi guys,
I own a 2006 VE Calais-V sedan in black.
Over the weekend, my car was badly vandalised. Damage included:
- Smashed rear windscreen (several rocks thrown through)
- chipped rear driver window (they've tried to smash it)
- moderately dented/deep scratch above the rear driver window (as if they've shoved a screwdriver between the panel and the window to try and pry it open)
- DEEP (to the metal) scratches (approx 10cm in length) on the boot, roof, bonnet, and a couple doors
- further scratches (mainly one continuous scratch along the entire exterior of the car) and on the sunroof
- small dents on the sunroof, roof, driver side door and bonnet where it looks like rocks have been thrown onto it)
My car is insured for $22,500 (agreed) through RACV.
What is everyone's opinion on how much this will cost to repair/whether my car will be a write-off?
I've heard some people say that if "every panel is scratched it's a write off" and others say similar thing about hail damage but my car is obviously still worth a fair bit so hoping it can be repaired...
Any advice from experienced people would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks guys
