The best way to check if it's working is to jump on the motorway using moderate acceleration to the speed limit. If power mode is working it should hold onto 3rd until you back out of the throttle once cruising where as in economy mode it will change up earlier and lock the converter.

It wouldn't hurt to reset the ECU, As the ECU learns how you drive. So I would recommend reset it and then go for a drive. It might change, it might not.

I was testing mine have power on and hold it at 60 then take power off and the revs should drop about 500 or so
