Hey all, I got this 02 VY Exec as my first car a few months ago second hand for $13k and have been a bit confused as to the parts on it, here are some pics I'm slowly learning about commodores but still have a way to go, anyway, just have a few questions about it Were foglights a factory option for Execs? Cause to me the front bar looks like an SS front bar, same with the rear bar, but the sideskirts look pretty stock to me. I'm also confused about the wheels, I've never seen another stock Exec with these wheels before. Are they factory, or did the bloke before me put them on? Just trying to find out more info about my car Cheers
The wheels look like the vy series to s pack wheels. The spoiler, rear and front bar appear to be an ss kit, foglights were probably installed whenever the kit was. As far as i know they weren't an option as there is no existing wiring loom in most (someone correct me if i'm wrong). As for the side skirts, they look like the ss ones but ss ones are colour coded. Rear bar and side skirts are stock standard exec kit, front bar is an SS and wheels are from an S pack.
as said above(not my quote) only the front bar ss. rear bar and skirts are exec, spoiler and wheels are spac VY/Z rear bar has lil fins on the black bit.. looks cool lol
Correct. Except it's only the VZ spoilers that have the little fins. The spoiler in that pic is definitely from a VY S.
Looks like there are teenie weenie aero fins at the bottom! Not as nice as the full-size ones though And I agree with others, SS front bar, standard rear + skirts.
When I bought my old VY Ute new, it had the same thing. A few dealers were selling them with VY SS Front Bars and 17's. They had the package for my ute advertised as an "HBD Ute" or Holden By Design. Does it have silver on the steering wheel, door handles and park brake? If the car was bought new in NSW I would bet it was from Suttons Rosebery.
Cheers for the replies guys, cleared it up for me. I reckon I need to get an SS rear bar and side skirts, I don't really like the black plastic look around the bottom at all. VYClubby: Not sure where the previous owner bought it from, but the door handles, handbrake and sterring wheel are just stock black, no silver on them. Cheers, Richie.
rear bar is not SS, its looks like exec with the grey **** on the bottom. foggies are SS (should have 'ss' in the glass) wheels are VY2 spac 17". car looks to have fe1, hence the four wheel drive height
