Are you using a 6 cyl tail shaft as the original unit? Was that one in the picture out of the car? Then that is your problem. You need a V8 shaft as they are longer at the front. That will put the centre bearing in the correct position, then it is a matter of using the rear half of a V8 BW shaft.

Nice to see people stealing my pics for them selves!.

Anyway, the area where the centre bearing bolts up, i took mine out cause both threads were rooted and put in bolts in there, so now it has two studs.

if your that hard up to get one, ring Hardy Spicer or any reputable tailshaft rebuilder and find out if:

A) if the XD falcon tailshaft was 2 piece
B) if it is then if the rear is the same as a VL rear section lengthwise
c) if it isnt then can the rear unijoint / flange assembly be welded onto your VK tailshaft, might be worth asking the question as I know that XDs and other falcons ran the borgy diff...
good luck

Just so ya know, we've put borgy's under 3 VH's and a VB and haven't run into this issue.....there shouldn't be a problem with lengths. You definitely shouldn't have to get a tailshaft customised, I think ya gotta just find the correct front/back combo.
