Forgiving is appropriate if the incident was isolated. Twin Towers was the worst, but it's not the only time that radical Islamists have attacked western nations and the US hasn't been the only target. Think Bali (twice), London, Barcelona, at least two US embassies on the African continent, USS Cole, and closer to home, if reports today are accurate, plans to murder at least one random Australian citizen (probably via head removal for your internet entertainment). Forgivness won't achieve anything with this crowd - they see it as a weakness to be manipulated and exploited for their benefit.
I don't think putting this thread on the jokes forum is appropriate either. You may well believe that the media is over-reacting to "isolated incidents" carried out by a murderous minority, but those incidents are becoming more frequent. World leaders, acting on intelligence gained by better advised people than any of us here, are taking action to tighten security within their respective countries. Over-reaction? Only if you live in a cotton-wool world or you call yourself skydrol. I'm quite concerned about the direction the world is heading and feel better knowing that the pacifism and appeasement that has existed prior to previous major conflicts, isn't present today.
