do you have the part number? Certain option packs did permit the 6cyl motor with a tacho.

i think the part number is on the bottem right corner of the gauge

The first tacho is a VB/VC item. The other one is a VH.

Only tacho's AFAIK fitted are optioned up models, standard on 5 litre V8s.

i have a VH tacho in my VB and it annoys the **** out of me because how the needle and writing font is different.

I hear you, however I don't think I have ever seen a SL/E that does not have a (factory) tacho, 6cyl or otherwise.

sl/enut is 100% correct, what he is saying is a sl/e is an optioned up model and have them if a 6 or an 8 standard, and standard on all v8 5ltr models.

I wasn't disagreeing with SL/ENUT (for whom I have total respect), I was just saying that in over 20 years of being an SL/E enthusiast I have never seen an SL/E without a tacho, that's all.

The original 202/253 powered VC onwards SL/Es had vac gauge, standard. Only tacho was in 5 litre, even rarer in VC SL/Es.

In VB SL/Es, all got factory tachos.

Might have a pic somewhere on my 2 owner 202 VC SL/E with vac gauge. It has a tacho now though.

just claifying not having a dig. i too have not seen a sl/e with out a tacho, ive had 1 vb 253 2 vc's 1 202 and 1 308 and 2 vh's 1 202 and 1 253 all sl/e's and they have all had tachos, if factory or not not sure.
