Hey guys, im new here but yeah.
I have a 2002 series 2 VX equipe and wanna get it rollin radical.
It is COMPLETELY stock atm but im making a start. As of last week i ordered ANZ "five+five" 18x8inch rims with as low as go tyres.. I also have a set of 4 superlow king springs to wack in.. but im not sure if that will be low enough.. i would like rims around the gaurd leval. maybe lowered shocks aswell as sl springs may help???

    ***other things that are planned are;
*2.5inch cat straight through, with extractors
*new *single din* kenwood headunit with 4 door stock speakers (upgrade later), and possibly a JL AUDIO sub and 4channel amp. (maybe run sum 6x9s one day too)
*Black front and rear monaro altezza lights
*a body kit.. looking at a non-genuine VX senator full kit off ebay ($1500) or shauld i spray the underlay (that is black all around the car) white to match everything ($600) around
*the darkest legal window tint ($400) quoted
*new chips (no rev or speed limiters)
*possible conversion to a 5sp manual. (maybe with ceramic plate cusion button clutch?)
    *possible LSD conversion aswell
*possible Supercharger of some sort (more than likely)
WHAT ELSE SHOULD BE DONE PERFORMANCE WHYS???
also small things like spraying dash insert white and so on.
    thanks guys.
feel free to add anything that you think will suit it, and/or improve it.
    cheers

sounds like you've got everything sorted should be sweet when finished, i personally dont see the point of having 6x9s if you have sub's though.

Yeah sounds like you have it pretty well sorted.
Fairly sure that commodores don't have a speed limiter (and why would you need it removed), and the rev limiter is there for a reason.

This is the sort of stuff that you could put in a "my ride" thread

does foamy do vx's now, i thought he could only do up to vt's because of the computer changing or something like that.

unless your definitely getting a supercharger i wouldn't go any performance mods in my opinion.

LSD is definitely worth it, mine came with one, when i compare my car to others it feels like a totally different car, definitely feels better with one.

If you do plan to spray your dash and stuff there's a thread on the how to section on this site that can help.

Don't get a body kit though, don't pretend to be something it's not (again just my opinion)

Sounds like some good plans man, can't wait to see it when it's finished.

There is a speed limiter on my vu ss, so I bet they'll be one on Hawkys. Don't see the point in removeing though as you need a very long driveway to get to it!

if you want it to be gaurd level supers in the front will get it to tyre level but are good because if you go much lower in the front rubbing when turning becomes an issue... go ultras in the rear this will get the car to sit level as they sit slightly higher in the rear anyway, hope that helps

when i say removing rev limiter, it doesnt get rid of the whole thing.. All it does is when it gets to its maximum of 5500rpm it valve bounces instead of changing gears its self... and as for the speed limiter, it kicks in a 220kmh. and just sits on it. (i live in the country we have LONG STRAIGHT ROADS.) aha
Yes and with the body kit thing,, i rekon ill just get the original body sprayed white.
    cheers guys,, helping heaps...
DOES ANYONE know any details on getting a manual conversion on my VX???
    cheers

lol i would not be doing 220ks in a commodore, especially if its still stock height...

I heard manual conversions for these cars are quite expensive, (when you compare it to older models).

Everyone always just suggests looking for a manual car and buying that, the money you waste on the conversion you could just save it and get another car already with the manual in it.

i no that everyone says that you should just get a new car... but what i rekon makes a car unique to someone, is doing what you want... not many VXs are 5sp,, so thats why it would be a kool thing...
and ive benn 200kmh.. and it handle great

I think that if you use the words 'Pimp' and 'VX' (or any model commodore) in the same sentence again I'm going to come take your car of you :p. Ricers pimp and rice, we enhance.

If your going low then don't go a body kit, makes car awful for practical use. Instead of getting headunit now and speakers later, get speakers and amp now and headunit later, sound will be better now. Supercharger and LSD are golden ideas, stick with these two first, also roller rockers, these perfectly compliment a supercharger. Also going to need a CAI. As for the manual conversion, meh, up to you but I'd be going charger first, conversions aren't cheap.

For one, its a rev limiter not valve bouncing.. and theres not that much power left at the rev already theres little point pushing it further unless theres more power left:thumbsup:

and does it do it all the time when you hold it flat or when you hold the selector in gears?

i know a stock bydesign vx v6 auto that tops at 220kmh aswell
i know the vts dont stop tho
