hey guys,

my name is Jamie and I have just brought my first vs and first v8 ute. im also new to the forum.
I got the ute last week for a bit of a project and to be a nice street car as previously I have had a couple of BNS utes so I figured it was time for a change.

the ute is a 95 vs with a 304 v8 with 355,000kms and t5 trans and is panther green.(first car I have had that's not white).

the car is unregoed unfortunately, but hope fully wont take too much to get done alltho it has a cam, headers and exhaust from bill lee automotives perth, so hopefully the inspectors to have any probs with that.

once regeod im thinking
new cam and head upgrade
new intake manifold (possiably COME twin throttle body one),
new twin 2 1/2 in exhaust,
relocate the battery to the rear,
cold air intake (looking at the MACE type ones),
new wheels/ rims
adjustable Kmac strut tops
adjustable front and rear whiteline swaybars
general tidy up
maybe redo the dash cluster with some speco/ autometer gauges

things I do need to get done are
tidy up all the dodgy excess wiring in the engine bay
remove that guage that's hanging off the centre console
redo the thermo fans (as they done work which I found out driving it home the other night)
get the large dent repaired and touch up the rest of the body and polish it up
get center console lights tp work
repair window regulators and get the windows to work

I would like to set it up so I can take it down to the local track and have a go at drifting just for some fun but also have a nice looking ute with good on road manners.

will try and up load pics soon as it will not let me do it atm =(

cheers jc

Looks like a good base. I'm not sure if the pits will like the gaffer taped pod though.

Yea looks like she needs a bit of work, had some back yarders doing the wiring by the looks of things!! The ball you can see near your pod is def not meant to be in that location. I worry about all the wires with random tape around them i hope they are not wires simply twisted together. I would make the wiring one of your priorities as cheap and easy just time consuming

Cheers bud yeah I have a sparky mate who is going to tidy up the wiring and redo a decent set of thermos for me. That ball thing where is it ment to be located? Also if u notice the canister next to the fuse box is that where it should be just secured or is it in the wrong location?

Cheers jc

I'd move the ball to its original spot, fix the wiring, check for leaks, replace the pod with a standard unit/MACE CAI. Inspect bushes for wear, ensure tyres have plenty of tread, ensure brake components are in great nick. Will most likely get done for a windscreen.
I'd also look for any other dodgy repairs..

Save your coin get a standard box from the wreckers for bugger all just to get it passed. Looks pretty tidy. I would be ripping off that silly gilmer setup myself but each his own.

Hey wombles, where does that ball thing go exactly? As for the rest I will be throwing on new rotors and pads etc will check bushes and the tyres are near new as I picked them up to drive the car home originally.
