VF Calais V V8 Walkinshaw
To be honest I'm not 100% sure on what I have, if need be I can go through the paper work.

But I know I do have a VF Calais V 6lt Sportwagon with Walkinshaw mods. Pretty sure it has HSV headers and Walky exhaust.

I do know I love the sound.

I also know that on trips, say Sydney to Tamworth or Sydney to the south coast, it's just a bit too much.

Can anything be done to my current system to make it like the the HSV and VFII bimodel systems?

The Jekyll and Hyde?

I really don't want to lose what I have, but on the other hand I'd love to be able to flick a switch and have some silence on the highway.

The Dr Jekyll bit is easy, really. $500 diy or $700 with a cup of coffee.
There are a few threads on here about implementing bimodals on an SS, basically find a set on ebay, buy a controller, hook it up.
Given you can shut Mr Hyde down whenever, you can go a bit crazy, so to speak.
Do the bimodals first then go to town with Mr Hyde.
PM me for details.

I had a look on eBay, but couldn't see any.....

Anyone have a link?

I ended up buying some marriage savers, but open to bimodals if they are too much

Your local exhaust shop should have some

What module can control the bimodal for cars fitted with std exhausts?

The series 2 Redline exhaust sounds like it would be good.
Would that be an option?

Yes but doubt it would be as simple, at least until an aftermarket PCB surfaces, because I suspect it will use the latest HSV system which since 2015 are went electric servo and digital controller. Ultimately more scope and flexibility than vacuum and spring (on/off) but the outmoded diaphragm operation is simple and reliable.
I think you will be able to modify the new silencers to fit the cheaper, simpler system, yes. Otherwise you have to do a lot of work brow-beating the new controller or wait until someone knocks up an aftermarket PCB.
