apparently , the three of them were due to sign new contracts until 2018 , this could be their way out , I could understand them not wanting too , but this is an extreme way of dissolving the relationship with the Beeb

Ummm ... I've seen them present the car twice (second time was an updated version or whatever). They DID make a big thing about its Australian roots!

Seems there is a lot of bad blood between Clarkson and a senior BBC idiot who it seems will use any excuse to try and get rid of him.

I don't think the shows producer is the major issue, it's the idiot further up the food chain.

News report also say that Clarkson reported the incident himself......

It would be suicide for the BBC to sack him. I highly doubt and hope they don't, the mix will never be the same otherwise.

It's a bloke called Danny Cohen who wants him gone , I think Jeremy Clarkson is a complete nob end , but he does make the show , in its current format I reckon Top Gear as we know it is over .

Yeah, he is a knob (quoting Captain Slow) but he makes the show. Without Clarkson it would be like watching Aussie Top Gear :)

Apparently his contract is up this month......

In this the aftermath I don't want to excuse Jeremy but I do feel that the BBC have not only failed him they've failed the rest of the crew and all the fans worldwide.

    This is a great article.

Jeremy Clarkson, your big mistake was not hitting me again says Piers Morgan | Daily Mail Online

Noble sentiments , it goes to show that even bruisers like Jeremy Clarkson have issues, I think he'll lay low for a few months and then shout out " we're back " , he will have his haters but we all do .

Technically he's not been fired, the BBC have just decided to not renew his contract.

It is sad, although I can't condone him striking a fellow worker I feel that there is much more to this story.

Ultimately I think someone has had it in for Clarkson from the BBC. Think about it for a minute, is Top Gear filmed live? Some parts maybe but many parts aren't and there are multiple takes. One then must wonder how many of the things that have gotten Clarkson in hot water ever made it into Top Gear episodes/public arena unless the Senior Top Gear producer/director decided to include it. The best example of this the clip when Clarkson supposedly used the N word, as this was never part any official Top Gear episodes or other released material how did this ever make it into the public arena unless it was released or more likely leaked by someone in the Top Gear production team which ultimately could have had only one result.

Since the official BBC statement, Captain Slow has dropped a fairly big hint that he won't be back either and the Hamster hasn't said as much but I suspect that all 3 won't be back on Top Gear next year and you'll find them hosting a new Motoring show on another TV channel.

And this to me highlights just how big a bunch of pussies the BBC management are.

They took no stand against Jeremy's admittedly wrong actions - they wussed out. No blood on their hands.

The head of programming , Danny Cohen , is not a Clarkson fan , and he was one of the first Jeremy Clarkson phoned after the incident , sad though .
