- 2010 Nissan X-Trail ST-L
So I recently got rid of my 308rwkw '05 HSV R8 and picked up a '10 Nissan X-Trail ST-L Petrol with about 75rwkw.
Basically, the clubby would venture out once every couple of months and while I loved having it in the garage, it mostly jsut sat around getting dusty under a car cover.
So i decided to get a car that could tow, that I could throw the dogs in the back of and that I wouldn't be tempted to mod.
First on my list was '03 to '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee's, but after taking 2 for a drive I decided I didn't like driving a marshmellow and went looking elsewhere.
Stumbled across a '08 X-trail at a car yard and it ticked all the boxes, plus is actually felt really good to drive.
A short time later I found a 2010 example at a dealer near my place and ended up doing a straight swap for the clubby.
Anyway, here are some shots:
The first modification has already occured, as for some unknown reason the version released in Australia had the steering wheel button illumination disabled. Basically the wiring isn't there, but I am pleased to say that in my X-Trail, the wiring now exists (although no my finest wiring job) and the buttons illuminate.
Next on the list will be getting the front windows tinted as it looks a bit spaz with the rear being seriously dark and the fronts not at all.
The other thing I did was spend a good hour in the car cleaning off all the bloody Armoural they used on the interior! SERIOUSLY, they would have used a good 2-3 bottles and everything I touched left my fingers feeling greasy.
Fun times ahead!
