Jump starting vt commy

Hey anyone able to clarify for me whether or not I can jump start my 99 vt v6 commy with a 2015 vf sv6 commy as I've had mixed opinions on whether it could cause damage to either car

the safest way is to always disconnect the battery from the car you are jumping from so you are essentially just jumping from a battery.

otherwise you need leads that supress any spikes.
