i know this would have been talked about many time but, Today i replaced the thermostat and hoses in my vs, now once i finished filling and the water level stopped dropping, i started her up and was running for approx 3 minutes and i didnt really need to fill it with anymore fluid, the temp gauge had not budged and the heater was fairly warm, so i took the top radiator hose off and there wasnt any water in it, so i filled it up by the hose and reconnected it, i then added more water by squeezing the pipe and drizzling water over the bleeder, so i basically filled it up and i moved it onto the drive way and checked levels it was fine i also undid the bleeder screw a little and water squirted out, but when you squeeze the top pipe you can sortof hear water sloshing around, should i be concerned of this? or have i done something wrong as i dont want to destroy anything, has anyone noticed this before? also which way does the water flow, does it come out from the top and in at the bottom of the engine if you get what i mean or is it the other way round Andrew
yea i was doing all that, as i said a little water squirted out when i undid it a little, but it sounds like theres water still sloshing around inside the pipe i was wondering if thats normal
You may only have a small amount of air probably trapped in one of the radiator side tanks which should go away by itself. The best way to make sure it is full is to measure how much coolant you put in. Keep an eye on the water level at the radiator cap for the next couple of days. (wait till she cools!). The hot water flows in at the top and cold out the bottom.
