    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has some idea as how to stop gear sliding around in the boot of your car?
I have a massive heavy toolbox for work which slides all over the shop. Velcro is out of the question.

    Cheers

I had a mate who had those 90* brackets and screwed it into the boot carpet and the sub box.
I have bungee straps, there's a couple of places you can hook them to hold stuff down.

Or fill the boot up with miscellaneous items?

a set of 90c bent brackets would work good i have then holding my twin subs in place and it doesnt even budge... the only problem is you would haft to unscrew it all the time to get the toolbox out..

I used to hold subs down with ratchet straps. I had a couple mounting points bolted to the boot floor, just pass the strap over the sub and crank it tight. Click the lever to undo, out in seconds. Same would work for a toolbox.

After heaps of failed looking online, I'm thinking of just going to Clark Rubber and getting a piece of rubber slightly bigger than the toolbox and just lay it underneath. Thoughts?

Get a tray a little larger than the tool box and mount it to the floor. The lip will stop the box from sliding.

Ratchet strap bolted to the floor will do the trick.

If you're after rubber mate, don't go to clark rubber, you'll pay an arm and a leg.
Go to Bunnings or any shop along those lines and buy some 5 dollar rubber door matts that you whipe your feet on, then cut them up to suit.
Or you can put some 2 dollar hooks into the boot and a tie a heavy duty bike lock around the toolbox, you may laugh, but it works...

I got a rubber ute tray liner from supercheap, all of $25. Stops the dog and all sorts of things flying around. Worth checking out as it is cheap enough.

    Too late :(

I went to Clark Rubber earlier today and picked up a metre of rubber mat, a couple of millimetres thick. Cost: $24
It's only thin, but damn it's tough.

I cut some up to put in the toolbox sections, so my spanners don't slide back and forth, and put the leftover rectangle in the boot and sat the toolbox on it.
The weight of the toolbox is enough to hold the rubber to the boot carpet, so it won't slide.

    Great success!

Ahhhh, who cares then, if you've fixed the problem you're a happy camper...
