Hey fellas just asking what is a decent sub setup would be, like amp + sub?
I do have a bit of a budget though, because i will need new speakers as i am running stock everything..

I just bought a brand new pioneer 7950IB, that will replace my kenwood unit, now just wondering what speaker setup i should get.

I dont want to spend more then like $800/$900? That is pushing it really just for speakers...

If i am getting a sub should i get 6x9's?

Heard they do like the mid note...also do you always have the sub running? Apparently u don't always

Anyway just hit me up with some reccomendations on a decent setup, inc amps/speakers/6x9's...

Also is there a difference between speakers and splits ?

    Thanks fellas!!!! ;)

Ok well if you are on a budget then maybe check out Response gear from your local Jaycar store. Its very well priced for what you get. I have a response amp and 12" sub which goes pretty bloody hard for a single 12" sub. Check out their dual voice coil subs and maybe a 2x150WRMS amp (run one bridged channel to the sub), or even one of their 800WRMS mono block amps. They also make splits which aren't too bad either. I have a set of their 6" splits and they go alright. Jaycar amp will set you back between $250 and $400 depending on what one you get, sub will cost about $200 and splits are about $150 (thats roughly what mine cost me when i got it). So thats well within your budget

If you are putting a sub in dont bother with 6x9's. They are a waste of time as all they are really meant for is gaining bass in as system without a sub.

With respect to the sub running all the time, some people do, some people dont. Personally i have mine going non-stop and have no desire to turn it off while listening to music.

Oh and if you are gonna have a sub, just chuck a set of decent 6" or 6.5" speakers in the parcel tray instead of 6x9's. Alot easier to install as they will just slip straight in and will do the job. Doing that with a set of splits in the front doors and a sub and you should have a decent system.

And also, go to a few stores and check out other brands. I can definately say good things about respnse gear, but there is plenty of other good stuff out there, it might just cost you more. Have a listen to them all and see what you think. You might see/hear something you like at a good price.
