Hey all, Just wondering im lookin at a 1992 VP Calais, and the guy has told me its an International, and my dad and i havent heard of this b4, so im askin if anyone else had and if its try that they brought out an international in the VP model Cheers
thanx m8 for that , also what do u think one is worth, its in good cond, its got fresh paint but interior pritty grubbie, also the engine is pritty tired. cheers man
not sure on price, best to look on redbook or something but guesstimate around ~$7K for good condition
that one looks ok. would need a motor rebuild though. body looked clean apart from the dust. would be a good projet car. if ur planning on buying it get the numbers etc checked. if i remember correctly stealthy saying that vp calais internationals never came out in a manual
your right m8, they didn't come as a manual, they are all auto's, it says it on the redbook site. Link: http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehicle/vehicles.php?make=HOLD&family=PSCALAIS&year=19920
Thats definatly an International, however, a very very rough one. There was one on there a few months ago for 4000, with hail damage (needed new bonnet, boot and repaired roof). I wouldn't pay any more than 3000 for that one. They only made 300, 150 Anthracite, and 150 white. All were auto (so this one has been converted, as is mine), all had V8 and all power options. Also a side note, apparently the Internationals Engines had different pistons to a SS or berlina 5L, which gave them an 'edge' over the SS. They didn't have a build number either, they were just realeased like a normal Calais or exec Its missing the rear lip (same as VQ II caprice), and the International steering wheel. the interior can be cleaned easy enough (by the looks) but you'll go some trying to find a steering wheel. Heres a link to my photobucket so see what the steering wheel and lip should look like! http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v213/1OFAKND/VP Calais International/
