Just installed LED bulbs and my dash keeps telling me to check globes.

Vf sv6 sedan 2013
Hey guys,

I have a 2013 vf sv6 sedan, one of the rear brake globes went so i purchased LED globes for all the rear lights. They all work perfectly but everytime i start my car or even go to turn a corner its telling me to check brake lights or check indicators (both sides). Its really annoying.. is there a way to turn the warnings off or to fix this issue? Do i need a new fuse? Or do i need to get new LEDs for the headlights as well?

Putting LED's in was your first mistake, they are pain in the a____
There will always be a problem with LED globes, they will work ok for a while,
Then some of the LED's will fail, or flash, and I can guarantee in time you will be re-fitting the standard globes.
I have tried them years ago, and went back to STD Globes,
So much so, I now buy Brake Light Globes and indicator Globes in bulk for our 5 cars we have.

There is a way of fixing it, is to install a load resistor in the circuits where you have LED Globes, that can be purchased online.
Keeping in mind you can have a LED globe fail and the dash will not let you know of the LED globe has failed, because of the load resistor is in place.

U will need to put load resistors on for led, your computer thinks they are blown as it can not sence the led power as it draws less currant.

It also the same if you tow a trailer with led lights it to will have to have the load resister fitted or your computer will go nuts.

If you find out the Ohm value of those you will probably be able to buy resistors from Jaycar for a few cents each or if you use wire wound maybe a dollar or two each.

They say 21w resistors but who knows what's in side, I believe 6ohms at 10w is all you need. Jaycar have 6.8 ohms at 1.80 each.
If you have led in the front and back for turning signal then use 3ohms or close to it like 3.3ohms 10w jaycar have on each circuit.
If only back turn signals then 6ohms 10w.
brake and tail light 6.8ohms 10w on each.. All 1.80.

I would imagine that using a resistor the same value as the globe wattage rating would do the job.
