i have no idea, but when the diff was in the ford, it never made a noise... and when the diff in the holden was in, thatg never made a noise either... i only replaced the diff because it was welded and i snapped the weld

Take the car to a diff shop. Its not as simple as a drop in swap. Few thou out, it can make a noise. I think theres a thread explaining it all somewhere but long story short is there could be a few things..

what shims did you use when ya put the center back in ? did you clean the housing out as some of the old broken bits could be going through the gears causing the noise (got lasy myself years ago and done this in my hq ute).
