they took the broken one out and just linked the water pump and other outlet at the front of the motor with a bit of cut hose so it didnt even run into heater lines

Did you connect the thin vacuum hose to the actuator thing on the heater tap?

You want to hope they didn't do that because the heater core was leaking.

you should have 4 hoses in your heater tap not 2, and a thin vaccum line.

i have hooked up vacuum line, there was already 2 hoses in there from the firewall then ran to where tap should have been, then the front hoses werent there, they chopped the main hose and linked it back up from pump to other oulet so there was one hose not 2

i hope the core isn't leaking either lol

tried to upload a pic but couldnt, any ideas how i can upload? cheers

Maybe there is a blockage in the heater core. Try and feel the pipes coming into the car that go to the heater and see if they are getting hot

Or stick the hose in one and see if water comes out the other.

If this works run a hose from one side of the tap to the other. Turn car on with heater off and check this stays cool. Then turn heater on and check it gets warm.

If both of these happen and it's still not getting warm you may be pulling your dash apart.

Seems like for them to bypass it there was a problem that someone couldn't be bothered dealing with. Heater Tap isn't a major job.

also there is a oily substance in the radiator and can smell it through the aircon now after putting heater tap in and it smells different from hot and cold settings but doesnt get hot
