My mates swears by them.He now won't use anything else but a K'N filter. He used to use rycho's till he found metal shavings in them.
He says they no longer make the rycho in aus but import them from china.

The K&N oil filters are on par with Ryco (its good that the ryco got the filings out ur mates car, but the filter wouldnt cause them)The only advantage of the K&N filter that i see is that u can tie them to ur engine(for racing) without using a hose clamp like most people.

The best oil filter u can get is a "dunny roll" filter kit, the r used in the truck industry. Will filter .001 microns, and keeps the oil clean enough so u no longer need to do oil changes.(just change the dunny roll in it and top up with bout 1ltr of oil)
